"Nah, this is the kind of thing you can only get from a factory or something, but still nice." She smiles. "Oh yeah? Looks like we'll have a great view then."
"I have a great view anytime you're in the room." Not what she meant, but he's saying it anyway. He uses his hook to pull the cork out of the wine bottle. "Ready for some wine?"
He pours some wine into each of their glasses. He sets down the bottle and picks up the glass labeled "Mr." and holds it up for a toast. "To whatever the future brings."
She likes that, thinking about the future with him. It's full of possibilities. She raises her glass and smiles. "As long as it's with you, I know it will be amazing."
"I've never had a future like this before." He doesn't want to discount his time with Milah, because he wouldn't trade that for anything, but what he has now with Emma is different than he ever imagined having. Just like he wouldn't take away her time with Neal, but knows that it was different, too. "Whatever it is, I know I'm going to like it."
"I never really thought much about the future." Emma admits. "I mean, as the savior...I was never even guaranteed to have one." Because anything could have happened. "But everything is different now and we can...do anything." She shrugged. "We could even give themed rides on the ship to people. Pirates are a big thing."
"Only if they promise not to touch anything." He has rules about his ship, and takes better care of it than he takes of Emma (although he's well aware that she can take care of herself).
That's something to think of at some other date though. Right now he wants only to think of her, and their wedding night. "I never really thought about mine either," he admits. "Pirates don't really have futures, and you know as well as I do that my quest for revenge was more likely to kill me than not. I never imagined anything different until I met you."
"Well, now you're looking at a lifetime, Mr. Jones...what are you going to do with it?" She asks, teasing him just a bit. There were so many possibilities for them now.
"A whole lifetime? I don't know." He can't bring himself to tease her too much though, not after all the patience it required to get to this point. "I think I'm going to start by giving my wife a night she'll never forget."
"That's a bold promise, are you sure you can back it up?" She can't help teasing him a bit with all of this. But in reality, this is just the beginning for them.
"This will be navigation more than astronomy." He can identify them, and use them to find his way, but he doesn't study them or anything. He wraps his arm around her shoulders, the arm with the hand so that he can point up at the sky and show her what he means. "That star there, that's the North Star. It's the brightest star in the sky, and used in navigation."
In that moment, Emma is just so happy. She never really thought she could be this happy. Of course she knows the North Star, but she's more than content to let him tell her about it. "It's beautiful." She says with a smile, still hardly able to believe she's a married woman with a wonderful life ahead of her.
"If you can find that star, you can find your way home." The actual method is more complicated than that, but that's the basics of it. "I suppose that makes you like my North Star." Since he'd been finding his way back to her for so long, both literally and figuratively.
"You're my home." She tells him. It sounds cheesy, but it's the truth and then when he basically says the same about her, she can't help but smile. "Well, you know my family, we always find each other."
"Aye. As annoying as your parents sometimes are, they are always there when someone needs them to be." And they've even accepted him as part of it all, so he won't complain.
"They are." Emma agrees. And now Hook is part of all of that. He's family. He was family before today, but it made things official. It was funny, when she had first met Hook, she never thought she'd end up marrying him.
"Just do me a favor and don't tell David I called him annoying." It's not the best start with his...father-in-law, but on the other hand, it's a lot better than the actual start they had. "I didn't really mean it anyway."
"I know you didn't." Emma says. "David...Dad knows too." Hook is family now, and they'd all come a long way together. No matter what they thought of one another in the past they had put aside their differences and embraced him into the family, because Emma loves him.
"Good." He turns back to the sky. "The North Star is important because the positions of the other stars around it tell you where you are. I can show you what I mean sometime, if you like, but it's more complex than we want tonight."
